About me
I’m Lindsay Fox, a New York based Designer. I spent 13 years in fashion design as a Design Director for RTW leading teams to create exciting seasonal collections to delight and engage the customer. I truly love the collaborative effort of putting together a collection based on a unified creative vision and watching the design process unfold.
When the pandemic hit NY in early 2020, I found myself having to rethink my path in life. I have loved the retail and fashion industry that taught me so much, yet I felt I needed to make a change in my life, while still staying true to my passion for design. I thought about times where the day completely fell away and I looked up at the clock and it was way past time to go home. I realized that those were times I was working in Photoshop or Illustrator creating a mood board, sketching flats, or creating a storyboard that visually communicated the story I wanted to tell. I also asked myself when was I most energized at work, and I thought about the times we were faced with difficult business and needed radical changes to the way we worked. I thought about how I had to lead the team to get onboard with doing things differently, collaborating with my partners to find the best solution for cross functional areas, and the pride I felt, when it worked. I realized, my love for design did not have to be limited to fashion. It could apply to other fields, such as graphic design and UX design so I took the time to immerse myself in learning about those fields, and the nuances of those industries.
As a designer, I am tasked with organizing visuals across space. I have to have a deep understanding of proportion, color, and contrast to create something that catches ones eye and encourages them to take another look.
